In compliance with the provisions of Organic Law 15/1999 of December 13, on the Protection of Personal Data (hereinafter LOPD), and Royal Decree 1720/2007 of December 21, which approves the Regulation implementing the LOPD (hereinafter RDLOPD), CATA wishes to inform users of the website www.visitcentroamerica.com about its policy regarding the processing and protection of the personal data of those individuals who voluntarily communicate via email to info@visitcentroamerica.com, complete data collection forms, or use any other service on the website that involves communicating their personal data.

CATA informs the user of the website that this privacy policy contains all aspects related to the processing of personal data that CATA carries out as the data controller. If the user—after reading this document—continues to use the services, they will be expressly accepting this privacy and data protection policy. Otherwise, the user must leave the website.

Users are informed that any processing of personal data will fall within the scope of the current legislation in Spain on data protection, as established by the LOPD and its complementary and implementing regulations.

For these purposes, personal data shall mean any information concerning identified or identifiable natural persons—including email addresses and/or IP addresses when they unequivocally identify the data subjects—and user shall mean any identified or identifiable natural person who communicates their personal data by email, by completing data collection forms, by using any service on the website that involves communicating their personal data to CATA, and/or by any other means of communication of data to the mentioned entity.

When a user decides to register and create a profile on the website www.visitcentroamerica.com, the data provided will become part of a database owned by CATA and will be processed for the following purposes:

  • To manage their registration on www.visitcentroamerica.com and the creation of their profile linked to such registration, which will be accessible only through their access credentials. If the user does not wish to create such a profile, they must abandon the registration process.
  • To allow them access to all content and services offered through the website that are exclusive to registered users on www.visitcentroamerica.com.
  • To participate in forums and opinion surveys.
  • To send them advertising and commercial information based on their preferences and interests regarding products, services, and activities organized and/or sponsored by CATA, in cases where the user expressly requests or authorizes this by checking the corresponding box.

Additionally, users are informed that their personal data may be stored in a customer and web user management application in order to offer the user products and services aligned with their preferences, personalized marketing, customer loyalty initiatives, performance measurement, management of communications maintained with the user, and ultimately to enable better interaction with them.

CATA informs the user of their right to exercise their rights of access, rectification, cancellation, and opposition by submitting a written request addressed to CATA at the following address: Calle José Abascal No. 15, 28003 – Madrid, Spain, via email to europa@visitcentroamerica.com, or to info@visitcentroamerica.com. For this purpose, the data subject must send a written communication indicating the request or right they wish to exercise along with a copy of their ID card or any other legally valid document that proves their identity.
