Day 1

Dominican Republic – The Republic for the World

Meet and greet at Las Américas International Airport where a representative will be waiting for your transfer to the hotel in Santo Domingo. Free time to rest from the trip or walk the streets of the city and dine on your own.

Day 2

Check out – Departure to Punta Cana

After breakfast we will take a tour of the colonial city of Santo Domingo, including visits to the Old Town, the First Cathedral of America, the Alcazar de Colón, the Amba Museum and Calle de las Damas. Then a shopping tour will give you time to buy a souvenir to take home. To experience an exquisite gastronomic and cultural experience, lunch will be served at a traditional Dominican restaurant. You could not miss the panoramic view of the modern city, the National Palace, and the Colón lighthouse. In the afternoon, visit to the Tres Ojos National Park before starting the transfer to Punta Cana.

Day 3

Free time and fun in Punta Cana

Today is destined for you to enjoy your ALL-INCLUSIVE hotel and sunbathe and show off that wonderful tan, either in the hotel pools or on the beautiful white sand beaches. At night enjoy the nightlife of Punta Cana.

Day 4

Excursion to Isla Saona

Start your day very early with breakfast at the hotel to continue at the scheduled time with a full-day excursion to Saona Island, where you will experience a unique sailing trip on a catamaran and speedboat navigating the different blues of the Caribbean Sea. Saona Island has become over the years the number one excursion in the Dominican Republic. This unforgettable experience combines the beauty of the Parque Nacional del Este with the tranquility of the Caribbean Sea.

After the a/c bus trip from the hotel, going through the Bayahibe beach, an old fishing village, you will embark on a spacious catamaran or boat, to sail along the coast in the direction of Saona (there will be an open bar included in the catamaran, either on the way in or on the way back). Upon arrival, there will be time to rest, enjoy a paradisiacal landscape, or walk along the island. At lunch time, the buffet will be waiting for you (rice, chicken, and fish, pasta salad, vegetable salad, fruits, and coffee), with drinks included (rum, beer, water, soft drinks).

Day 5

Punta Cana – Guatemala

After breakfast, take advantage of your stay at the hotel to enjoy the last free morning on a Caribbean beach. After lunch and at the scheduled time, transfer to the Punta Cana international airport bound for Guatemala, with a small stopover in Panama (Copa Airlines flight 351 leaves at 1836 hours and arrives in Panama at 2016 hours, then leaves Panama for Guatemala at 2132 hours arriving at its destination at 2253 hours).

Day 6

Arrival in Guatemala – The Country of the eternal Smile

Meet and greet at La Aurora International Airport in the Guatemalan capital. Transfer to La Antigua Guatemala, which takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Dinner at the hotel – snack.

Day 7

Antigua – Panajachel – Boat Ride – Antigua

The day will begin with breakfast at the hotel, and transfer to Antigua at the scheduled time to visit Panajachel, one of the 14 towns that surround the beautiful Lake Atitlán. The ride takes about three hours, but it is an indescribable journey. During the ride you will have the opportunity to see the road adorned with different colors, thanks to all the products that are grown in the most productive part of Guatemala. As you travel the road you will see onion, tomato, corn, pumpkin, carrot, and zucchini plantations, and many other products that are used for local consumption as well as for exports to other countries.

Arrival and lunch at Casa Blanca restaurant in Panajachel. After lunch we will board a boat that will take us on a tour of a town located on the slopes of the volcanoes that surround the beautiful lake.

Arrival and visit to the town of Santiago de Atitlán (on the other side of the Lake), a town of descendants of the Tz’utujil Mayans where a guide will show you part of their culture. We will take the opportunity to visit the deity of Maximón, part of the religious syncretism between the Mayan worldview and religion. We will walk through the market enjoying the colors of their products and they will show you what their beautiful fabrics mean and how their beautiful Mayan headdresses are placed. We will then return to Panajachel and from there to Antigua Guatemala, making a strategic stop to eat at one of the traditional restaurants of the region. At the end we will resume the ride back to the hotel.

Day 8

Antigua Guatemala

After breakfast at the hotel, the guide will take you on an interesting tour of the city of La Antigua Guatemala founded on March 23, 1543, where you will admire the architecture of the majestic old buildings. Antigua Guatemala is famous for its Spanish colonial buildings, many of them restored after the 1773 earthquake that ended La Antigua’s 200-year rule as the colonial capital of Guatemala. Due to its historical importance and beauty, UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in 1979.

Time for lunch and then for a walk through the cobbled streets wherethere are buildings that are still preserved and are original from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. You will be able to enter what once were convents, churches, and houses of residence, to look at them from the inside. Later, we will visit the crafts market, the museum, and the Jade factory. At the end of the day, return to the hotel.

Day 9

Antigua Guatemala – El Salvador – The Country of Smiles

Breakfast at the hotel and hotel check out. At the scheduled time we will pick you up for the transfer to El Salvador – the Country of Smiles. The first arrival will be to the Ahuachapán Town located in “La Ruta de las Flores’’ which will take you through charming towns that are in the Sierra Apaneca Lamatepec and that in turn belong to the Biosphere Reserve of the same name. These towns are surrounded by lush coffee plantations, many of them winners of the Cup of Excellence.

Arrival and check in at the hotel in the town of Ataco. It is time to eat and for this we will visit the Bosque Tayua Restaurant, located in a small cypress forest in the coffee mountains. Here you can not only live the coffee experience, but it is also your opportunity to learn about this product and its different forms of preparation. You cannot miss the obligatory visit to the El Carmen Coffee Processing Plant, founded in 1930. This processing plant has been preserved through four generations implementing an interesting process of transformation to high-quality or Gourmet coffee. We will take a guided tour to learn how coffee is converted from coffee beans to fine export coffee. At the end of the day, return to the hotel in the town of Ataco.

Day 10

Route of The Flowers (Town of Ataco) – San Salvador

Very early breakfast and hotel check out. Depart the town of Ataco for Salcoatitán, where we will visit the Botanical Garden of Bromeliads, a collection of beautiful tropical American plants, and will continue to Nahuizalco, our last stop on the Route of the Flowers. We will have free time to visit and buy souvenirs to take home in this beautiful town famous for its handicrafts made of wicker and tule.

Then, we will head to San Salvador, and on the way will also visit El Boquerón National Park, named after its largest volcano crater, worth getting to the edge to contemplate the force of nature in the huge crater. After this visit we will transfer to a local restaurant where you can eat with a wonderful view of the capital city. On a clear day, you can see Lake Ilopango and the Chinchontepec and San Vicente volcanoes on the horizon. After lunch we will visit the Historic Center of San Salvador, which has old buildings and squares that are an important part of the history of this country. At the end of the day, we will transfer to the hotel to check in. You will have the night free to explore on your own.

Day 11

Suchitoto

Start the day with your breakfast at the hotel, and head out to take a guided tour including a visit to the Cihuatán Archaeological Park, an ancient city that emerged after the mysterious “Mayan Collapse” and became the regional capital between 900 and 1200 AD. We will continue to the colonial town of Suchitoto, city founded by the Nahuatl and means “Place of Birds.” We will have the opportunity to visit the indigo workshop with local women. The indigo or Jiquilite dye is a native plant from tropical areas and has been very important for the country since pre-Hispanic times, during the colony, and today.

Transfer to a restaurant for lunch, and then visit the port of San Juan where we will take a boat ride on beautiful Lake Suchitlán. We will take a tour of the largest water mirror in El Salvador, a Ramsar site, and the scenario for the visits of migratory water birds. We will then take a walk in Suchitoto, paying visits to its beautiful church, the Alejandro Cotto Museum, and some other places of tourist interest, and will end the day with a visit to a workshop of “pupusas”, a Salvadorian traditional dish.

Return to the hotel and overnight in San Salvador.

Day 12

Departure – Transfer to the International Airport

Breakfast at the hotel and transfers to the International Airport for your departure flight at the scheduled time.
