Day 1

GUATEMALA CITY

Arrival in Guatemala and transfer to your hotel. Accommodations in Guatemala City.

 

 

 

Day 2

COMALAPA MARKET, ART GALLERIES AND IXIMCHÉ ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE.

Breakfast. In the morning, transfer to the Highlands of Guatemala to visit the town of San Juan Comalapa. Upon arrival, we will observe murals painted by local artists which represent great events in Guatemalan history. We will explore its colorful market which unlike others in the region, is less visited by tourists. This will allow us to better understand the lifestyle of the local inhabitants. Comalapa is also known for its popular paintings. Local artists exhibit their works in galleries in their homes, some of which we will have the opportunity to visit. You will be able to acquire these true works of art. We will continue our journey to the Iximche archaeological site. A pre-Columbian archaeological site, Iximche was the capital of the Mayan Kaqchikel kingdom in the Post-classic period. The architecture of the site includes a number of pyramidal temples, palaces, and two ball game fields. At the end, we will have time for lunch, and will transfer to La Antigua Guatemala. Day 3

EXCURSION – LA ANTIGUA GUATEMALA

Breakfast. In the morning, we will take a three-hour walking tour through the Colonial City of La Antigua Guatemala, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We will visit the main attractions such as La Plaza Central, the Cathedral, La Merced Church, the Santa Catalina Arch, and Tanque La Unión. Accommodations in La Antigua Guatemala.

Day 4

EXCURSION- CHICHICASTENANGO MARKET

Breakfast. In the morning visit to Chichicastenango to enjoy the wonderful and colorful outdoor market, considered one of the largest in Latin America. You will have the opportunity to visit the Church of Santo Tomas (lunch included). At the end of the day, transfer to Lake Atitlán. Accommodations in Panajachel.

Day 5

BOAT EXCURSION – SANTIAGO ATITLÁN

Breakfast. In the morning, take a boat ride through the picturesque Lake Atitlán to explore the Mayan town of Santiago, characterized by its textiles and handicrafts. Return to Panajachel, lunch (included) and transfer to Guatemala City. Accommodations in Guatemala City.

Day 6

GUATEMALA – SAN PEDRO SULA; HONDURAS

Transfer to the International Airport or continue your program with the perfect combination in the heart of Central America, Honduras. Welcome to San Pedro Sula! Our agent will meet you at the airport to take you to the hotel.

Day 7

SAN PEDRO SULA – COPÁN RUINAS

Today we will visit the industrial capital of Honduras, touring the city, where we will get to know its buildings, churches and the Guamilito market, so we can admire the different handicrafts that are made in the country. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the Mayan artistic city of Copán Ruinas.

Day 8

COPÁN RUINAS

Today we will explore the famous Copán Ruins. We will enjoy the most artistic city of the Mayan World. We will start with the Archaeological Park, where we can see the longest Hieroglyphic Stair of the Mayans, the Ball Game, considered the social center of the city, the Great Plaza, famous for the stelae and altars, the Acropolis, entrance to the Museum of ceramics, tunnels. Then we will visit the bird park where you can interact and take pictures with a variety of birds, and will enjoy a delicious lunch in a natural environment.

Day 9

COPÁN – TELA

After breakfast, transfer to the City of Tela where you can enjoy one of the best beaches in the country.

Day 10

TELA – PUNTA SAL

After breakfast, you will get to visit the Jeanette Kawas Park (Punta Sal), one of the most important parks in Honduras considering its size and biodiversity. We will leave early in the morning and will travel by boat to this spectacular natural jewel, where you will enjoy beautiful white-sand beaches, an exotic and exuberant jungle, and an attractive coral reef. After a unique Garífuna lunch, you will have the rest of the afternoon free to enjoy at the hotel.

Day 11

LA CEIBA

After breakfast, private transfer to La Ceiba, eco-tourist city of the country. Rest and relax in the hotel facilities.

Day 12

LA CEIBA – CUERO Y SALADO

After breakfast, you will tour the Cuero y Salado Wildlife Refuge, which offers a bird paradise, since 28% of the country’s total species are found there. You can also see white and howler monkeys, lizards and other species. With luck, you will see manatees and jaguars.

Day 13

LA CEIBA   – ROATÁN, BAY ISLANDS

Early in the morning or afternoon, transfer to the pier where you will take the ferry that will take you to Roatán, Bay Islands.

These days are to relax and enjoy the insular world and underwater life, surrounded by the second largest barrier reef in the world. Relax in the beautiful turquoise waters, beach, sun and sand, but we also recommended you visit the island for a fortuitous encounter with the people of the place, where you will find warmth and will share a little of their world.

Day 16

ROATÁN, BAY ISLANDS

Enjoy the beach, the sun, and the sand in one of the 10 most visited destinations in the world, considered an excellent place to live your retirement.

Day 17

ROATÁN, BAY ISLANDS – HOME

After breakfast, transfer to the airport to take your flight to San Pedro Sula, and connect with your international flight that will take you home.
