Meet with our guide at 8:30 am and transfer to Cerro Azul Meambar National Park. The region around Yojoa Lake is rich in different habitat types. Before we arrive at the park, we will visit the impressive Pulhapanzak Waterfalls. Accommodations for two nights at Cerro Azul Meambar Visitor’s Center.

Today we will explore the magnificent tropical forest types of the Cerro Azul Meambar National Park. We will hike to the interchange zone between the tropical rainforest, and the tropical cloud forest, enjoying impressive views of the lake. In the afternoon, we will have the opportunity to take a refreshing dip at one of the many waterfalls.

After an early hiking tour in the Cerro Azul Meambar National Park, we will transfer to Tegucigalpa, driving through fascinating landscapes in Honduras. On the way, we will visit Comayagua, the ancient capital with its colonial heritage, and a small historic museum. Accommodations in Tegucigalpa for two nights.

The whole day is free to tour the Honduran capital, and visit its surroundings. Later, we will visit the colonial mining towns Santa Lucia and Valle de Ángeles, located just outside of the city. Valle de Angeles is considered Honduras’ national handicraft center.

Depart Tegucigalpa for the pacific coast, and cross the border to Nicaragua. After a scenic drive, we will reach the city of León in the afternoon. With its university founded in 1813, León has long been the intellectual center of the nation. The highlight of the sightseeing tour is the cathedral, which was awarded World Heritage Site status in 2011. Overnight in León.

In the morning, visit to the Ruins of León Viejo, the old León. After an exploration of the archaeological site, we continue our way to Managua. On a short tour, we will discover Nicaragua’s current capital. In the late afternoon, transfer to the city of Granada. Accommodations in Granada for two nights.

Granada is the oldest colonial town in Nicaragua, and is said to be one of the most beautiful cities in Central America. After an extensive city tour visiting the colonial buildings, we will visit the Masaya Volcano National Park, Nicaragua’s first and biggest national park. The area comprises two volcanoes and five craters.

Drive back to Managua in time for your international flight. End of program.
