The Port of San Juan del Sur is located in a wonderful horseshoe-shaped bay bordered by two mountains, in the department of Rivas. Just a couple of hours from the capital. San Juan del Sur is a mandatory destination for cruise ships from the US, Canada and Europe, and for all tourists visiting Nicaragua.

San Juan del Sur is a fishing port, now home to the world, which offers all kinds of hostels and comfortable hotels. Its beautiful bay and hospitable, and cheerful people make this town a special and magical place that currently represents a symbol of tourism development, with a great gastronomic and lodging offer.

Visit its wonderful beaches, so you can enjoy the wind, water sports, hiking, canopy, diving and surfing, and the scenic beauty of its sunsets. During Easter Week, shows, concerts and night parties are available for all. These events are known as “Beach Nights and Sun Baths”.

Near the port you can also visit beaches such as Marsella, Majagual, Ocotal, Remanso, and Ostional, among others, as well as “La Flor Wildlife Reserve”. La Flor Beach is one of the few in the world that annually receives the arrival of turtles of the Paslama species between the months of July to January. It is possible to camp on the beach to observe the spawning of these turtles.

Playa El Coco, 20 minutes from San Juan del Sur, is a great beach with calm waves and fine sand, definitely a place to relax and enjoy the scenery and natural beauty. On this beach, you can go horseback riding, play beach games, and observe birds and nature.

Majagual beach, is a quiet beach suitable for tourists looking to relax and enjoy the impressive sea, has a wide coast with huge cliffs and wonderful sunsets, is conducive to boat rides and fishing.

Playa Maderas, located just 30 minutes from San Juan del Sur, is one of the best destinations for surfing, as it offers a powerful and appropriate swell.
