Whitewater rafting in Costa Rica is synonymous with excitement and thrills \u2013 and a chance to discover if you have truly mastered your craft. It\u2019s not for nothing that this country is a favourite among fans of the sport. We recommend the Pacuare River<\/strong>, with its 105 kilometres of level III and IV rapids around the Talamanca mountain range.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll also love the Sarapiqu\u00ed River<\/strong>. This watercourse is located very close to San Jos\u00e9, the capital, and enjoys an excellent flow for much of the year. Both are sure to amaze you with a host of challenges suitable for beginners as well as the more experienced.<\/p>\n

Guatemala, full speed ahead<\/h3>\n

This is another favourite destination for those who love rafting. It\u2019s always a good idea to check the classification of each river to help you make your choice.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll want to opt for rivers with rapids from level II to V <\/strong>\u2013 which you can find with the Cahab\u00f3n, Chiquibul and Candelaria rivers. Here, the wildest whitewater rapids combine with the jungle. You’ll feel like an explorer!<\/p>\n

Afterwards, you can decide to take on the level II and III rapids<\/strong> of the Coyolate River. With this option, you\u2019ll pass through the jungle, see natural waterfalls and enjoy a great day out.<\/p>\n

El Salvador, put yourself to the test<\/h3>\n

Here, you\u2019ll discover a wide range of activities and \u2013 what\u2019s more \u2013 the chance to relax and dare to set off along its rivers at maximum speed. Another option is the Paz River<\/strong>. This river offers level II rapids for a large part of its route. But don\u2019t get cocky, although its name is \u2018peace\u2019 river, it\u2019s home to some amazing rapids.<\/p>\n

The Lempa<\/strong> River is also full of surprises<\/strong>. Its summertime level II and III rapids become level III and IV in the rainy season. Its flow is quite high, with each reef offering up a challenge that will force you to choose the best strategy to continue on your journey. Exciting, don\u2019t you think?<\/p>\n

Finally, the Guajoyo River <\/strong>offers rapids ranging from levels III to V in its hardest section, and from II to III at the beginning of your trip. It\u2019s in this contrast that the true charm of this river lies. Be prepared for a fairly long ride, with a little bit of everything. It\u2019s sure to be the adventure of a lifetime!<\/p>\n
