Because of this, the Central America Tourism Agency (CATA) is promoting the campaign called &#8220;The Origin.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>The Origin&#8221;<\/strong> arises as a campaign that invites travelers to learn about the archaeology, culture, and nature that changed the world, which took place in the region. Traveling to <strong>Central America and the Dominican Republic<\/strong> would mean going back in time to see and experience the beginning of <strong>ancient civilizations, ancestral gastronomy, and idyllic settings<\/strong> in their purest form that remain in practice today.<\/p>\n<p>This new tourism promotion effort seeks to connect with travelers from CATA&#8217;s target markets by positioning a tourism offer from a more mystical and contemplative point of view. Currently, the region is home to an average of <strong>65 different indigenous peoples<\/strong>, which occupy almost 40% of the land and sea surface of the Isthmus, true guardians who keep intact the ancient customs of conservation, offering tourists the possibility of living an experience in contact with the living culture in natural spaces.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, <strong>Central America and the Dominican Republic are home to 12% of the planet&#8217;s biodiversity<\/strong>, with natural formations that have been the origin of the most representative ecotourism in the world. The region is also home <strong>to the second largest coral reef in the world and has a volcanic chain with more than 100 volcanoes<\/strong>, the perfect settings to practice emblematic adventures such as rafting, sandboarding, canopy, and diving, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Central America and the Dominican Republic expect a rebound in tourism, which, according to UNWTO estimates, will take place during the third quarter of the year.
