The seven countries that form Central America : Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama have joined forces since 2002, for tourism promotion as one region in Europe and Asia, through the Central America Tourism Agency- CATA - based in Madrid, Spain.

The Central America Tourism Agency seeks to position Central America as a region with integrated multi-destinations, sustainable and with high touristic quality, attracting more tourists and foreign currency for the benefit of economic growth in the Central American region through a competitive promotion in the markets with the greater potential.

'Central America: So small, so big'is the brand name that represents the seven countries. It includes the spiral symbol, present in the various indigenous cultures of the region, its colours representing the warmth of its people, the sun, its two oceans and the vegetation of the isthmus; the legend: the reflection of the communicational positioning of Central America: There isn’t other destination in the world with such a variety of vital experiences, authentic in a space so small as Central America.
