Description and main attractions
This is a less known, but recommended visit, close to Copan Archaeological Park, to complement the visits to the previous Archaeological Parks, which gives travellers the opportunity to observe the architectural systems used for ceremonies, elite housing and home of artisans and peasants, but undoubtedly the structure that stands out the most at the park is Structure 1, which with its 11 meters in height, is the greatest elevation of all the archaeological region.
The park also counts with a Visitor Centre where you can see an explanatory model and a museum exhibition on the discoveries that were made in the area.
Location
The park is located in the municipality of Jugua, in the department of Copan in western Honduras.
Getting there:
From San Pedro Sula, you can get there by the road CA-4 to the community of La Entrada and then through the road CA-11 and taking a detour 5 kms later. It is also possible to get there by taxi from the city of La Entrada.
