WEATHER
- In El Salvador the climate is tropical and pleasant throughout the year, but warmer in coastal areas. There are two distinct seasons: summer from November to April, and winter or rainy season from May through October.

- By air:
- TACA is the nation's largest company, and its hub in El Salvador directly connects to the main U.S. cities, and also Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama.
- Delta, United Airlines and American Airlines fly regularly.
- The San Salvador International Airport is located 45 km from the capital. Shortly it will undergo an expansion process, which once again will convert it in the largest, most modern and secure of Central America.
- Due to the small size of the country, and the short distances between destinations, there is no airline that makes regular domestic flights, but customers can rent helicopters or aircrafts to meet their needs.
- By boat:
- The main ports are La Unión (which is under construction and will be the largest and most modern in Central America), La Libertad and Acajutla.
- By road:
- El Salvador has the most modern road network in Central America, which allows tourist to move among destinations pleasantly, easy and fast. In 2008 began the construction of the “Carretera Longitudinal del Norte”, in the area near the border with Honduras, that will allow the inclusion of the inhabitants and communities of the area into the national development.

GASTRONOMY:
- The most popular food is a kind of tortilla known as pupusas, made of corn meal or flour, filled with cheese, beans or ground pork, also mixed (a combination of all of them), in recent years have been adding new fillings (shrimp, vegetables, tuna fish, squash, ham, potato, blackberry, etc.).
- A typical dish can be accompanied by beans (ground or whole), cheese, cream, eggs (scrambled, hard or crashed), fried bananas, meat or grilled chorizo, tortillas and for drinks: coffee, horchata, barley or salads (from fruit), keeping in mind that this can change depending on the area where you are.

TYPICAL PRODUCTS AND DESTINATIONS:
- In Archaeology is necessary to emphasize Joya de Ceren Archaeological Site, World Heritage, since it is the only site in the Maya world that shows how the homes, crops and form of life of those ancestors was. Remains have been found where you can see: the rooms, kitchens, utensils, animals, human footprints and cellars, (which were preserved for thousands of years under volcanic ash); Sihuatán, with two Mayan ball game sites; Tazumal Ruins, Casa Blanca and others. Since the last years, skeletons of animals that inhabited the earth 2.2 million years ago have been discovered on the banks of the River Tomayate. Excavations continue and access is limited.
- Nature and Adventure: Montecristo National Park on the border between Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras. The Cloud Forest covering 1,200 hectares is one of the most visited in the Park. It is characterized by its high humidity and temperatures ranging from 10° C to 15º C.. In its belly shelters tree species with broad and bushy tops, reaching heights of up to 30 mts., as well as ferns, palms and 70% of the orchid species found in El Salvador. Among the mammals that inhabit the area are the jaguar, puma, gray fox, raccoon, howler monkey, spider monkey and the red deer. Green quetzals and toucans have also been observed. There are specialized guides, tourist information centers and campgrounds.
- Congresses and Conventions: the capital San Salvador is a modern city with a large number of recent constructions. The streets offer visitors many stalls selling all sorts of items, from shirts with tourist motifs to typical handcrafts of the region, as well as the most modern hotels and shopping complexes. Among the main tourist attractions are the National Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the National Library, ample nightlife, international restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs and more.
