This city of colonial aspect is located near the capital, in Acahuapa Valley, and was established in 1636 with the congregation of several Spanish families, founding the town of San Vicente Abad or of Leon. This region of historical importance also has beautiful natural resources and rich gastronomy.

Within the city is the Church of Pilar, the scene of important chapters in the history of El Salvador and the Tower, with a touch of grace as it is tilted. Nearby is worth visiting the ruins of Tehuacan and the volcano of San Vicente. San Vicente holds a celebration throughout the month of January to the Lord of Esquipulas in the temple of the sanctuary, with daily Masses, the most important on the 14th. It is also famous the Feria de Todos los Santos, where is brought to stage the historic struggle between Moors and Christians. Very close to this destination is the town of San Sebastian, famous for its textile production, where you can purchase hammocks, bedspreads, and clothing and even rolls of fabric.

Location

It is the capital of the region Paracentral in El Salvador, which lies at the foot of the volcano Chinchontepec.
